Self TraffickingDid you know that because the police receive federal grant money from the US Government to 'find and rescue/ arrest" 'victims of sex trafficking' and there are so very few actual victims despite the many outrageous claims based on guesstimates put forth by 'victim pimp' organizations like the Polaris Project- that police are resorting to charging  alleged sex workers with trafficking THEMSELVES? Fortunately  for one such accused 'sex worker/ sex trafficker' in Alaska, the charge of 'sex trafficking herself'  was dropped, thanks to the efforts of the ACLU. They successfully appealed the absurd claim of 'self- trafficking' and the charges against this 'victim' were dropped, although she is still facing prostitution charges.

Not all persons accused of trafficking themselves are as fortunate to have a legal team like the ACLU to help them. Fighting prostitution charges alone is quite expensive, but the cost of fighting  felony charges of 'sex trafficking' which carry long term prison sentences- (which can be up to life in prison and a lifetime sex offender registry)  is more than individual sex workers can afford. The prosecutors, using the leverage of a threat of a 15 years to life sentence, coerce the alleged sex worker into pleading guilty. This helps the government show they are being tough on 'sex traffickers' and increases the rate of 'convicted sex traffickers,' while making it possible for the police departments to apply for more and more grant money to find and rescue more sex trafficking victims whom they can then charge with sex trafficking of themselves. It is a vicious circle of lies, deceipt and dishonesty used by the prostitution abolitionists to scam the public for hundreds of millions of dollars every year.

There is no doubt in my mind that whoever put the 2012 Polaris Project statistics together did not expect anyone to question their numbers. It is unclear, however, whether the individual(s) who issued the final reports deliberately miscounted (fabricated/ lied/ fibbed etc.) their total calls or if it was an unintentional error. There was a similar problem with the total number of calls in 2011, and interestingly,  the total number of  'potential victims referenced' calls were undercounted (their total such calls was 773, but we found 814- undercounted by 41, while the total calls were over counted and there a significant number of total calls which were unaccounted for: in 2011, Polaris Project reported that they received 19,427 calls (total all designations), but when we put their numbers for each state and territory in a spreadsheet, we found only 11,518 calls- which is 7,909 missing calls we could not find anywhere... click here to view the poster  with the data or visit our 2011 Polaris Project Comparison page here: 2011 Rape and Polaris Project Stats State by State

Here are the state by state numbers from the Polaris Project detailing the phone calls they received in 2012, as well as the comparison to rapes, rape arrests and arrests for prostitution state by state (from the tables linked below):

2012 Polaris Project Calls List of missing calls for total 'potential victims referenced' calls

Polaris Project claims they received 20,652 calls (total) but we found only 15,200- or 5,452 fewer calls than they report having received.

(see pdf for description of all calls they alleged they received in 2012) And of the 2,393 "Potential Victims Referenced" we found only 1,251 calls designated as such- which is 1,142 fewer calls or 48% of their 'Potential Victims Referenced..

2012 Uniform Crime Report -Crime in the United States-

Forcible Rape/ Definition/ Overview:

Forcible rape is defined as carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.

This document says it includes attempts to commit rape, but in reality it doesn't.

According to this document, there were 84,376 rapes reported to law enforcement.

As noted in the 2012 Criminal Victimization Report- there were 346,830 rapes and sexual assaults

Polaris Project poster- 2011- 2012

WHERE ARE THE CALLS?

A handy reference poster highlighting the missing numbers - over counted and under counted on their 'potential victims referenced...'

If you can find the missing numbers - or know how they managed to come up with numbers which do not match the state by state numbers, PLEASE  contact us and share with us how they performed this magic trick. Remember, this faith based organization has the federal contract to gather information and take phone calls related to all forms of human trafficking. If THEY cannot be trusted to get it right- how can anyone else be trusted?

"In Houston (TX) alone, about 300,000 sex trafficking cases are prosecuted every year..."

The above statement was made in an op-ed piece in the Dallas Morning News on November 22, 2013, and after a number of people contacted the editors and explained that this was simply not possible for so many reasons, the editors revised the piece and removed the fabricated statistics.

Unfortunately most people who read the original op-ed piece will not ever see the retraction, so they will never know that the editors who allowed such a huge blunder to be printed- have removed the absurd  statistics from this article. Here is what the 'Crimes Against Children Research Center' says about the 'number of estimated victims"

We understand the concern for minors who are sexually exploited. And there really are far too many children who end up as victims of predatory adults- most of whom are someone the child knows and trusts. The government itself  says that the majority of sexual predators of children are not those seeking to purchase the sexual services of a child- but are the people in the child's life who are trusted by the child and the family- like a religious leader- a priest, preacher, rabbi or imam... or a teacher, coach, boy scout leader, other family member or law enforcement agent. Why are these children- who constitute the majority of child sexual assault victims- not included in the laws which pandering politicians and 'faith based' prostitution abolitionist organizations  promote as a means of 'protecting the children'?

Why aren't those child victims- or the victims of violent rape or sexual assault- as important to those politicians and faith based 'victim pimps' as those adult women who have NOT ASKED FOR HELP and do not claim to be a victim?

Why no outrage over the recent article  in VICE, relating the horrors of the children being raped by members of the orthodox Jewish community? Exposed by a rabbi? Aren't THOSE victims as important to these faith based organizations as the ones allegedly 'sold' on backpage, com? (and even allegedly sold by COPS????)

Why aren't the 346,830 victims of violent rape and sexual assault (2012) as important to these people as the very few minors who are arrested for their involvement in the sex trade? In 2012, there were 657 minors- primarily 16 and 17 year olds- arrested.

Why are minors arrested for prostitution if they are victims?

NOTE: See NY Times- January 6, 2012

in which the FBI says they are going to expand the definition of rape- but the definition and statistics shown on the 2012 uniform crime report do not seem to show any new or additional definition- and as usual, the larger number of rapes and sexual assaults are not cited except in the 2012 Criminal Victimization Report... perhaps because if the early report was to show a much greater number of rapes and sexual assaults, compared to the number of arrests for rape (in 2012- 15,591 alleged rapists were arrested), they would not be able to claim that 40% of the rapes were closed by arrest. Clearly, 15,591 arrests for rape is NOT 40% of 346,830 rapes and sexual assaults.

If someone can show us that there are more arrests for the reported sexual assaults, we will happily update the stats to show the increased number of arrests.

WHY DO POLICE AND PROSTITUTION ABOLITIONISTS HAVE TO CONVINCE SEX WORKERS THAT THEY ARE VICTIMS?

As Denver Colorado Police Lt. Aaron Sanchez says "Prostitutes are not friendly... These girls just flat out say  (when told they are victims) 'Nope- that's not what's happening.' We have to help them realize they are victims."

In 2011 the Denver Police received a nearly $300,000 grant to find those poor souls and convince them they are victims... Lt. Sanchez says "estimating the scope of the 'problem' has long been an issue... I can guarantee you the numbers will increase...." Well, here are the numbers of persons charged with prostitution in Colorado from 2007 to 2012:

  • 2007: 668
  • 2008: 618
  • 2009: 651
  • 2010: 417
  • 2011: 319
  • 2012: 307

IF THERE WERE 668 PERSONS ARRESTED IN 2007 AND  ONLY 307 PERSONS ARRESTED IN 2012, IS THAT AN INCREASE IN NUMBERS?

polaris 2011 numbers

This is the Polaris Project state by state data from 2011- which also shows missing numbers of calls.

It is difficult to believe that for two years in a row (we haven't checked their missing calls for previous years yet) they inadvertently erred in adding up their calls. We certainly understand making a numerical mistake... a call or two here and there- but these are NOT just a 'call or two'- there are 7,909 calls that we cannot account for- missing entirely from the state by state documents.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT 'VICTIM PIMP' ORGANIZATIONS LIKE THE POLARIS PROJECT NEED EVERY SINGLE VICTIM THEY CAN CLAIM BECAUSE THEIR FUNDING DEPENDS ON IT. THE MORE VICTIMS, THE MORE $$$$$$$$$

piles of money

So, how many sex trafficking cases were prosecuted in Texas in one year?

"According to the Harris County District Clerk’s website, there hasn’t been a prosecution for sex trafficking in Houston since 2010. But when people say “sex trafficking,” they may mean “compelling prostitution.” There have been two compelling-prostitution cases filed in Harris County this year.

Not 300,000. Two."

The 2012 FBI Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) Table #69- arrests by state, shows that in the entire state of Texas there were a grand total of 1,009,136 total arrests for all types of crime, of which 7,009 were for all cases of prostitution and 78 of which were minors.

In order for the Houston cops to even arrest enough alleged sex traffickers to prosecute an estimated 300,000 per year, they would have to do the following: arrest 822 alleged traffickers per day7 days per week, 365 days per year. That would average about 34 arrests per hour, 24 hours per day.

(Given that it took 37.1 officers to 'rescue' ONE child victim during the 2013 "Operation Cross Country" how many Houston cops would it take to find the victims OR the 'traffickers'?)

If the DA did not decline any of those arrests and prosecuted every single one of them, it would break down like this:

If prosecutors and judges took off every weekend and 12 holidays per year, they would need to prosecute (over the course of the remaining 249 days after subtracting 104 weekend days and 12 holidays)
1205 cases per day, or 151 cases per hour. Nationwide, there were 48,148 arrests for prostitution in 2012, of which, nationwide, 657 were minors- or 1.38%.

How on earth could anyone make such an outrageous claim of 300,000 sex trafficking cases being prosecuted EACH YEAR in ONE CITY ALONE... when there haven't been that many human trafficking cases  of any type prosecuted in the entire country EVER?

Operation Cross Country Stats for 2011- 2013 - it took 37.1 law enforcement agents to 'rescue' ONE CHILD!

cross country compare

pat robertson

"I don't know about you, ladies and gentlemen, but the idea of christians being able to force their religion on adult women who are, in the minds of these bigots, VICTIMS of 'sex trafficking'- makes MY skin crawl... Where was Pat when the catholic priests were caught diddling children and simply transferred to another parish, were not arrested, were not prosecuted and DID NOT GO TO JAIL BECAUSE THEY WERE ALREADY JESUS FOLLOWERS....?" anonymous sex worker who is NOT a victim of anything!

Someone- please tell Pat he ought to read this article: "Slavery in London- An Historical Morality Tale"

Televangelist Pat Robertson (shown left) thinks that 'sex traffickers' ought to be executed. The idea of us poor women and children being trafficked for sex "makes his skin crawl." The article on the website "beliefnet' discusses the new tactic taken by some law enforcement agencies- in this case, the Dallas PD- which offers the "victims" of sex trafficking "jail or Jesus.."

(Click on this link or image to see article AND to watch the video- the link above will take you to another article on the same topic.) According to police, after the women are arrested and brought to the courthouse (and after being tested for STDS and drug use) the women have the opportunity "to accept this offer or go to jail..." He says it is 100% VOLUNTARY...

So far, not many women have accepted this "100% voluntary" offer, seeming to prefer going to jail rather than going to church. For those who do accept the offer and complete the program, there is no indication what the woman are now supposed to do to earn a living. Perhaps they can be taught to sew? And go to work in a sweatshop, earning minimum wage?

If sex workers are truly "victims" of anything (other than societal ignorance, hypocrisy and utter stupidity), why would it be appropriate to threaten us with incarceration if we don't accept the kind offer of going to church or going to jail? When was the last time the cops made that offer to victims of rape, victims of domestic violence and spousal abuse or victims of pedophile priests (or teachers, preachers, coaches  OR COPS)?

What these people do not seem to understand is that by giving law enforcement agents the power to threaten us with "jail or Jesus" ALSO gives them the power to threaten us with "A BLOW JOB OR JAIL..."

(LAPD OFFICERS JAMES NICHOLS AND LUIS VALENZUELA- STILL EMPLOYED BY THE LAPD, DESPITE RAPING AT LEAST 4 ALLEGED PROSTITUTES. HAVE NOT BEEN ARRESTED OR CHARGED WITH A CRIME)

Despite the fact that all of these people CLAIM that ALL prostitutes are VICTIMS, the way they treat us -as sinners in need of salvation or as children who are incapable of making choices for ourselves - as 'criminals' because we 'sin'- suggests that this is NOT the way we are REALLY viewed by these moral and social hypocrites.

WE DO NOT ARREST OR THREATEN TO ARREST REAL VICTIMS... WE DO NOT FORCE RELIGION DOWN THE THROATS OF VICTIMS...

THIS IS PURELY A MORAL (AND SOCIAL) CRUSADE AGAINST CONSENTING ADULT COMMERCIAL SEX AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR WELL BEING.

IF IT DID, THEN THE COPS WHO RAPE AND PIMP US WOULD BE ON DEATH ROW- WHERE PAT ROBERTSON SAYS OUR NON VIOLENT, NON ABUSIVE CLIENTS, EMPLOYERS AND ASSOCIATES BELONG.

From the Polaris Project 2013 Press Release with 2012 Statistics: “Finally, we are pleased to see a mention of the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline, operated by Polaris Project and partially funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The hotline responded to nearly 21,000 calls in 2012,.. connected more than 2,300 survivors to services and support, and received credible tips of human trafficking in every state and the District of Columbia. In 2013, we are already seeing a 45% increase in call volume compared to 2012, along with increases in emails, web forms, and now text messages. This growth reinforces to us that the hotline is a highly effective way to identify and reach victims of human trafficking in the U.S. and connect them to the services they need to free themselves and rebuild their lives.”

THEIR NUMBERS DON’T ADD UP! 48% OF THEIR 'POTENTIAL VICTIMS REFERENCED' ARE NOT TO BE FOUND ANYWHERE... not to mention that they are missing 5,452 calls that they claim to have received... but entering ALL the numbers from their state by state reports, we simply cannot find those calls. Anyone want to ask them how they did their math? Of course they do not expect ANYONE to question them- after all, they are a 'faith based' non profit organization who makes money off the increase in calls,  or as I like to call them, they are 'victim pimps.' Exaggerating the number of alleged victims to keep their coffers flowing with donations from gullible people.

Also, in their narrative of what constitutes the type of call, the "2,300 survivors" are listed only as "potential victims referenced" and not actual victims... so how do they know these "2,300" (of which we can only find 1,251) are actual "SURVIVORS"?????? Where are these "SURVIVORS" referenced in their material? How do they go from just being "POTENTIAL VICTIMS" to being ACTUAL VICTIMS/ NOW SURVIVORS????????????
