COPS, DAs, JUDGES, PROSECUTORS and OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENTS WHO RAPE, EXTORT OR SOLICIT SEX WORKERS, AND WHO RUN PROSTITUTION RINGS OR PIMP MINORS

Why do they do it? Because they can.....

With the recent headlines exposing a military recruiter allegedly running a prostitution ring, and Secret Services Agents, DEA Agents and others involved with prostitutes when they are out of the country, politicians caught with their pants down and money on the bed- even friends of the President of the United States caught with a prostitute... it seems as though men as a whole can't resist sex workers, despite the loud and pontificating condemnation of  'sex slavery' by the very politicians who use our services.  And who can blame them? Our biological urges are natural, and as long as commercial sexual relationships are consenting and adult- why the hysteria over sex work for those who seek to satisfy those urges and who do not have access to a partner with whom to be intimate?

Sex work and sex slavery are NOT the same, regardless of how frequently we are told that they are by the government, the media, the prostitution abolitionists and the faith based organizations which financially benefit from the conflation of the two. Sure, the public is gullible- whenever an emotional appeal is made to 'save the children' (at whatever cost to both the children who are victims and to the adults who are neither predators nor victims) people get all misty-eyed, indignant and self- righteous. "MORE LAWS"- they cry- "WE NEED MORE LAWS TO PROTECT THE VULNERABLE, THE INNOCENT... THE CHILDREN..."

But who will enforce all these new laws that are passed in this climate of 'sex trafficking' hysteria?  The same police officers who can't seem to stop themselves from using the existing prohibition of consenting adult sex worker to rape and extort sex workers? To run their own prostitution rings and arrest the competition? Who will protect the vulnerable from the predators with badges?

Are there adults who don't consent to be prostitutes and children (minors under 18) who can't consent? Yes, unfortunately, there are. And there are law enforcement agents who coerce MINORS into prostitution, as well as coercing adult women into prostitution for the cops' financial benefit. Does that mean that all or most sex workers are forced into prostitution, either by a 'pimp' or a 'pimp cop'? Or that most prostitutes were minors when they 'entered the sex trade'? Absolutely not! You can see the FBI statistics noting the ages of those arrested for prostitution over a 30 year period, from 1981 to 2010, which show that it is impossible for the 'average age of entry into prostitution' to be 12 or 13 or 14...
And what about the 'violence against prostitutes'- does that happen? Yes, but not all or even most sex workers experience violence in their work, anymore than other workers in any other profession (like police work... very dangerous, I'm told...). For all other 'legal' professions, if there is potential for danger or violence, government agencies and employers work to minimize the danger or violence, and when it occurs, they take steps to punish the perpetrators of violence.
What about the claim that women who become prostitutes do so because 'they have no other options'? (the most recent moronic claim by politicians is that climate change is responsible for women entering prostitution....) Is that a justifiable reason to prohibit them from entering the profession?  If a woman was so desperate and in such a financial bind that she 'resorted' to doing menial labor- cleaning toilets for a living, scraping up the dried feces, urine and vomit of strangers in seedy motels- for minimum wage, ought we, as a society, to discourage her from doing so because it is her ONLY option and she is 'financially coerced' into such degrading labor? Is she being exploited by her employer because she does not have any other options? Even domestic workers in upscale hotels must contend with drunk or disorderly hotel guests, often becoming the victims of rape or sexual assault, as did the maid at the center of the Dominique Strauss- Kahn scandal. While this victim was able to draw the sympathy of the public because of the media attention to her case, how many other victims of rape- while working as domestic servants- are not as fortunate to have media coverage, and they receive little or no compensation for their horrendous experience? And because they are financially desperate, they must remain in their jobs because they have no other options... should we take their one and only option away because they have no other options?
There are wives and girlfriends who remain in relationships with violent men because they have 'no other options', particularly when the violent husband is a law enforcement officer. (And yes, there are men who are victims of violent women and also victims of other men in same sex relationships) That does not mean that all or most wives and girlfriends are victims of violence. Violence is rife in society- regardless of one's social status or occupation. Chiefs of Police kill their wives,  their families and themselves, as do millionaires and welfare recipients. Why does society place less value on the violence that occurs within 'societally acceptable' relationships than it does on prostitutional relationships? If society demands the 'abolition' or 'elimination' of consenting adult commercial sex because it deems sex workers POTENTIALLY at risk of harm by their clients or employers, but does not demand the 'abolition' or elimination of marriage or other relationships or professions that involve as much or more potential harm and violence, isn't that valuing 'sex worker victims' more than other women who are or who may become victims? Like the women in the military who are victims of rape? Is there a crusade to end the recruitment or hiring of women into the military, to protect them from their male OR female colleagues? While it is flattering to think that we are so much more valuable to society than WIVES are, we know that this crusade against us and our work has nothing to do with society caring more for us than it does the real victims of violence and abuse. It is and always has been a crusade to control women's sexuality.

How can laws be properly enforced if we include adults who believe they have consented to engage in commercials sex? How could laws against rape and domestic violence be enforced if we included ALL (non commercial) sexual activity within the definition of rape and presumed that within all personal relationships, domestic violence exists? How effective would any law enforcement agent be if they if they were unable to differentiate between an adult who consented to sex and a rape victim? Forget for the moment that many law enforcement officers themselves - and on duty- commit sexual violence on women who find themselves being stopped for a traffic violation or being in the wrong place at the wrong time... forget for the moment that some studies of domestic violence show that there is a greater likelihood of domestic violence within law enforcement agent families and within their non marital personal relationships than in the general population...  And temporarily disregard the fact that there are so many law enforcement agents who cannot be trusted around minors- and who have left a trail of damaged children in their wake... including their own children whom they molest with unbelievable frequency...

Why would we deny adult women the right to control their own bodies?  Why would we make victims out of  adults who have NOT reported a crime against them, when there are SO VERY MANY REAL VICTIMS OF RAPE, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION WHO HAVE?

Then, knowing that law enforcement agents are just as likely (if not more so) as any of the predators to commit crimes against vulnerable women and children who AREN'T prostitutes, why would we put cops in charge of 'protecting' sex workers- for their own good? Why would we not allow sex workers who ARE victims of crimes to report those crimes against them rather than insist they are victims when they say they are not? Why would we not give a sex worker who was raped and reported the crime the same victim restitution and therapy that other rape victims receive? She can only receive such therapy and victim benefits IF SHE GETS LEAVE  HER PROFESSION... and does WHAT to earn a living?

Why is it that the 'faith based' organizations- which stand to collect millions of dollars in donations from gullible taxpayers- make idiotic statements like this: "The biggest obstacle to rehabilitating the victims are the victims themselves, said Dennis Mark, of 'Redeemed Ministries'. “Victims make it difficult to help them. They don’t realize they’re victims. They’re manipulated and brainwashed to believe it’s their choice...”  because as we all know, adult women who sell sexual services are incapable of perceiving when they are victims and when they aren't... just ask Denver vice Lieutenant Aaron Sanchez: “Prostitutes are not friendly. It’s not like you’re talking to a child-abuse victim or a fifteen-year-old sex assault victim who wants to cry out and wants to explain what happened or is just scared. These girls just flat out say, ‘Nope, that’s not what’s happening.’ “We have to help them realize they are victims,” Denver vice Lieutenant Aaron Sanchez says.

And yet when sex workers do report crimes against them committed by law enforcement officers, judges, politicians etc., why are those crimes not prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? Because a jury will not believe that a cop/ judge/ politician raped a prostitute? Apparently that's what some prosecutors think... which is why San Diego Police Officer Daniel Dana was allowed to plead to a lesser charge and received a probation sentence rather than be sent to prison where the government wants to send the non violent, non abusive clients, employers and associates of adult prostitutes...

Cops, judges, prosecutors, politicians and other government agents raping prostitutes is a significant portion of rapists with a badge and government authority, although of course they don't limit themselves to sex workers. Some of the naughty fellows listed below were charged with soliciting the services of a real sex worker or of an undercover officer posing as one. Either way, these guys have the power to take away the freedom of a sex worker who does not "cooperate" with them, and ought not be sexually involved with them for any reason. In some cities, however, the cops are allowed to have sex with a 'suspected' prostitute to make an arrest, and in places where they may not do so, they can and do hire (meaning they PAY)  'civic minded' men from the community to have sex with a suspected prostitute and then testify against her. What the public doesn't know is that the courts have ruled that the cops can use prostitutes to catch other 'unsavory' characters- meaning that they can pay a prostitute with tax-payer money to have sex with another 'criminal' and bring back the 'pillow talk' to the cops to use against the other criminal.

The irony of cops raping prostitutes is that on the one hand, the argument  radical feminists/ religious conservatives make to continue the prohibition of consenting adult prostitution is that "prostitution is like rape..." and therefore a prostitute cannot consent to the sex as she is a victim... but when a cop actually rapes a prostitute or a woman who 'appears to be a prostitute' the Los Angeles District Attorney  declines to file charges because the woman's appearance  makes it difficult for prosecutors to prove that the sex was not consensual... in other words, prostitutes or women who dress like prostitutes cannot be raped... the very fact that they would sell their sexual services means that if a man wants to have sex with her without paying,  it is not rape."The woman had the "appearance and conduct . . . consistent with prostitution," making it difficult for prosecutors to prove that the sex was not consensual." Why is it then, that if a prostitute says she/he consented to sex with his/her clients, cops and prosecutors want to arrest and punish the non violent, non abusive clients, employers and associates of prostitutes regardless?

Here is a partial list of bad boys. If you know of others, please contact me at normajeanalmodovar [at] gmail.com

As with the other lists of naughty cops, it is easier to locate original news story when the story is more recent. There are many, MANY other cops who committed their crimes against prostitutes over the decades and I will post the news articles as time permits.
